New Delhi: The Supreme Court on Thursday upheld the judgment in 1994 on Ayodhya Ramjanmabhoomi controversy.
The long history of Ayodhya controversy is as follows.
1528: The Babri Mosque was built in Ayodhya by Mughal emperor Babur Commander Mir Baki.
1885: The controversial Ram Janmabhoomi-Babri Masjid petition was filed by Faizabad district court by Mahant Raghubir Das seeking permission to construct a tower on the outer space.
1949: Establishment of idols of Ramallah within the central dome of the controversial mosque.
1950: Gopal Simla Visharad approached Faizabad district court seeking permission for the worship of Ram Lalla idols. Similar application by Paramahansa Ramachandra Das.
1959: Apply from the Nilothi Ring to seek space acquisition.
1981: Request for space ownership by the Sunni Waqf Board.
1986: Local court order to allow Hindus worship in controversial space.
1989: The Allahabad High Court orders the status quo in the case of controversial space.
1992, d. 6: Babri Masjid demolition.
1993: Acquisition of 'Ayodhya specific area acquisition law' for acquisition of disputed space. This is a case of dispute by many, including Ismail Farooqi.
2002: Allahabad High Court trial begins with whom the land owner belongs.
2010: Sunni Wakf Board, Nirmohi Arena and Ramlalla allocate disputed space to all claimants.
2011: Supreme Court dismisses HC verdict on Ayodhya land dispute
2017: CJI JS Rao to settle the dispute by mutual consent. Keher advises.
2017: The Supreme Court shall constitute an inquiry into the petition filed against the Allahabad High Court in 1994.
2018: Appeal of petitions seeking re-examination of his 1994 verdict by Rajiv Dhawan requesting a 5-member extension bench.
Sep 27: Declaration of refusal to be forwarded to the extended bench.
